We continuously monitor food waste and take necessary actions to minimize it. Surplus food generated in our operations is donated to the local charity organization Samaria for redistribution. We recycle waste appropriately and reuse packaging boxes whenever possible. We use Transbox crates in our picking operations.
We operate with the Patu Wholesalers environmental management system that is based on the ISO 14001 standard. We monitor electricity and water consumption in our premises. Electricity use has been reduced, for example, by installing LED lighting equipped with motion sensors to avoid unnecessary lighting. Our transport fleet is serviced regularly and renewed when needed. Our optimized route planning minimizes unnecessary driving, improves efficiency, and reduces idling.
Suomen Palvelutukkurit Oy and its associated wholesalers cooperate only with certified, well-known, and reliable partners.
Product safety is vital to us, and therefore transparency is especially important. We determine the origin of raw materials and packaging materials and ensure their responsibility and compliance.
Together with other Patu-entrepreneurs, Kanta-Hämeen Tuoretuote Oy have certified our operations to comply with the ISO 9001 standard. Our quality management system has been developed with the customer in mind, focusing on creating good, simple, safe, and efficient operating models for maintaining management systems and continuous quality improvement.
Kanta-Hämeen Tuoretuote and Suomen Palvelutukkurit have an environmental program in accordance with the ISO 14001 standard.
The ISO 14001 standard defines processes and methods that enable us to comprehensively and systematically improve our environmental management and promote sustainable development.
We actively engage with our stakeholders. We set environmental requirements for both our partners and ourselves. We continuously improve and develop our employees’ expertise and encourage their participation in our environmental initiatives. Our organization is committed to meeting all obligations placed upon it. By following our environmental policy, we ensure continuous improvement.
We are participating in the 2026 Climate Program organized by the Finland Chamber of Commerce and will calculate our carbon footprint during spring 2026. Our goal is to operate carbon neutrally. We are committed to long-term efforts to minimize the environmental impact of our operations.

Kanta-Hämeen Tuoretuote Oy is a part of Suomen Palvelutukkurit Oy’s broader supply chain and collaborate with other Patu Wholesalers. We maintain a broad supplier network, including multiple suppliers within the same industry. Supplier agreements with key partners ensure product availability. We continuously monitor global economic developments, changes in customer purchasing behaviour, and their impact on raw material availability. Our purchasing operations proactively anticipate potential supply challenges.
Our facilities are equipped with a backup generator to secure energy supply in the event of disruptions. We are connected to the municipal water distribution network. Temporary interruptions in water supply do not pose an immediate threat to business continuity, as we are not a manufacturing operation.
We are prepared for staffing shortages through a comprehensive substitute system, shift planning, and the use of temporary agency workers.
As Kanta-Hämeen Tuoretuote Oy is not a manufacturing plant, we do not operate production machinery whose failure could halt operations. Our premises are equipped with a temperature monitoring system that alerts us to changes, enabling immediate response. In case of facility-related disruptions, products can be temporarily relocated to alternative storage.
We are prepared for transport and distribution disruptions by operating both our own delivery fleet and utilizing external subcontractors.
Our most important resource is skilled, committed employees who take pride in their work. Many of our employment relationships are long-standing. Kanta-Hämeen Tuoretuote Oy comply with labour legislation and collective agreements in all personnel matters. We maintain an open and communicative atmosphere between management and staff.
